No Right Turn - sign ignored

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3524085.

Junction of cliftonville Road / Cliftonville / The Avenue. Traffic frequently ignore no right turn signs which causes problems in morning rush hour. Dangerous to children and parents attending abington vale primary as cars turn into street from expected direction.

  • Thank you for your enquiry regarding rod safety. A driver should know road traffic signs from the Highway Code. Unfortunately Northamptonshire Highways do not have the enforcement powers to take any direct action against drivers who are either inadvertently or deliberately ignoring the road traffic sign at this location. If road safety is the main concern, then Northamptonshire Police can enforce if drivers making illegally and potentially dangerously manoeuvres at a road junction. These should be reported to your Neighborhood Policing Team by calling the non-emergency number 101 or by following the link on the Northants Police website: Neighbourhood Policing Teams | Northamptonshire Police (northants.police.uk). The Police can identify the owner by the registration number of the vehicle(s) and decide upon the relevant advisory or enforcement action to take.
