No access private road.

This road shows on sat nav as an access road but it’s actually a private road that only services the vicarage and white hart house. It’s only a single track so cars have to do a very tight three point turn. They have continually hit the church wall and on three occasions hit our vehicles as they are unable to turn around. A sign is required at the end of the driveway so vehicles are aware it no entry.

Thank you for your request for a no entry sign at the access to the Vicarage / White Hart House off Lower street, Desborough. As you mention this is a private road so Northamptonshire Highways could not install a sign immediately at the access to the Vicarage / White Hart House as this is not Public Highway so we have no jurisdiction over this road. We could however install a “No through road” sign adjacent to the Hall on Lower Street to indicate that the road beyond this point is a cul-de-sac. If you can confirm that this is acceptable we will arrange for an order to be placed for the works.
