Bridleway so overgrown it’s impassable

Reported via desktop in the Passage-Obstructed/Overgrown category anonymously at 15:06, Saturday 28 May 2022

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3557982.

Access along this Bridleway has been reported many times previously and each time it has been stated that the work to clear will occur during Springtime….well Spring is here and nothing has been done…nettles are upto 5’ high and dense….the photo shows the west section of this path, it’s gets progressively worse as you walk east. At the top section where there is the abandoned badger Warren, these open holes are covered by the bracken & nettles, so you can’t see them, and you can easily fall in, as I did…it could have easily caused injuries. It is totally unsafe and required immediate action. Walkers, it would appear are using the fields on Borough Hill itself and as this Bridleway is so bad, although this isn’t not the correct RoW….perhaps this is the best solution if Landowners permission is given

  • As the Repair Works won’t start for another 2 months, and as reported, you have carried out a detailed investigation, will you take this opportunity to carry out extensive repairs / soil infill to the Bridleway top section abandoned badger warren as well as repairing the west section which is heavily boggy from streams running off Borough Hill, using bark clippings as previous repairs have down?
