As footpath warden I have walked this section today and the landowner - Althorp estate, l believe - has taken no action yet. But in some measure they appear responsible for the issue having fenced the path into a narrow defile, using barbed wire inappropriately close to an awkward and unstable stile creating a health and safety hazard. It is now compounded by overgrown nettles and a tree fallen across the path at waist height. Having created the problems they seem to be taking no action to resolve what is now an unacceptable situation. This will inevitably get worse over the next few weeks and I urge that they be asked to expedite the work required. Richard Bunce

Thanks for reporting this a site visit has been made and we are now contacting the landowner to arrange for repair and removal of the tree limb within the next 6 weeks Defect reference 277945. Thanks for the information it has only just been over a week in which the land has been contacted so there are still a few weeks before we will re inspect to see if the work has been completed and if further enforcement action is required.

The tree obstruction has now been removed, thank you. However, the stile is now completely broken see photo. If possible, it should be replaced with a gap or a gate.
