Bridge gates restrict access to large horses
Reported via mobile in the Gate - Damaged/ Missing category anonymously at 15:36, Tue 5 July 2022
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3651565.
There are 2 gates either side of a narrow bridge on this bridleway. The bridge is only approximately 5ft wide. It is physically impossible to safely turn a large horse on this bridge to close the gate once entered. The gates are in good condition and could be used if they were weighted so closing themselves behind the horse. Apparently this bridleway was diverted just a couple of years ago and since then this bridge has caused the bridleway to be impassable for many horses for the reasons stated above.
