Inadequate waymarking

On 26.7.22 I was taking part in an organised walk in the Braybrooke area when the leader of the walk met with difficulties when trying to negotiate footpath GC12 through the Waterloo Farm Leisure site off Harborough Road, Great Oxendon. At grid ref 744845 he attempted to lead our group in a southerly direction through the above site towards Waterloo Lodge. Unknown to our leader the legal right of way at one point near the site turned left and right through a very large thick hedge from where if continued on the other side of the hedge in a similar direction. No waymarker disc was visible where the path changed direction twice to pass to the opposite side of the hedge. The owner of the site approached us and explained where the legal line of the path ran and the only waymarker we could find was hidden inside the hedge. Could this be rectified with adequate waymarkers placed in the area indicating where the legal path changes sides of the hedge.

  • Thanks for reporting this a site visit has been made and we have now raised works for 2 x new waymarker posts to be erected. We hope to have this completed within the next 3 months. Defect reference 281028
