Emergency: safety rail missing potential fall hazard onto road from bridge

Reported via mobile in the Pedestrian Barriers - Damaged / Missing category anonymously at 21:23, Saturday 30 July 2022

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3718898.

On the footbridge over Harrowden Road the guard rail on one end to stop people falling onto the road has been pushed over. At the opposite end the staves have been knocked out so anybody / dog etc would fall into the bank and onto the road below. Just noticed this evening

  • Please attend to this URGENTLY- it is a high priority case as potential danger to cars below the bridge if ‘things’ fall down and those walking across the bridge, especially small children

  • Thank you for your enquiry. We have made safe the footbridge following the vandalism. The damage has been added to our programme for repair. We are required to complete this within 24 months of the damage being reported, however we anticipate it will be repaired by the end of the year. If the make safe measures are further vandalised, please report this to us via StreetDoctor.
