This tree is highways responsibility

Reported via desktop in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 19:21, Sun 7 August 2022

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3736941.

Further to your report on problem ref 3638028, I would like to make the following comments and ask for action to be taken. This tree lies outside of the boundary wall of the property, Stonehaven. The house was built in the late 1990s in the farmyard of Grange farm and the boundary wall is the original farmyard wall. As a Thorpe Mandeville resident of over 45 years I strongly dispute your assessment of the site. There was never a hedge there and anyway Horse Chestnuts are not planted as hedgerow trees. The likelihood is that this is a self set tree resulting from a squirrel burying a conker in the verge. Therefore I am asking that the tree is pruned for the benefit of the resident, an elderly widow. It is time WNC stopped trying to avoid it's responsibilities towards council tax payers.
