Reported via mobile in the Obstruction (Not Vegetation) category by Kevin Jones at 13:05, Tue 16 August 2022

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3758058.

Road/ dropped kerb markings going beyond dropped kerb, installed today make parking in front of houses 2 and 4 impossible. Can the markings be reduced back to original markings. No consultation with residents have been received about these changes.

  • Northamptonshire Highways has recently introduced a series of white “access bar” roadmarkings at certain locations along Colwell Road and Chace Road. As well as extending over the existing vehicle access, to highlight areas to be kept clear of parked vehicles, these makings have also been extended to cover the exits of the adjacent alleyways. The markings extending over the entries to the alleyways have been placed to indicate areas that should be kept free of vehicles parking on the footway. This is to maintain sufficient access for residents with mobility scooters and pushchairs to negotiate the entrance to the alleyways without being obstructed by parked cars on the footway. I hope that this explains the situation.
