Poor condition of road surface on earlstrees road

Reported via mobile in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 08:42, Mon 12 September 2022

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3818398.

The poor condition and uneven state of the road surface on Earlstrees road in Corby is causing vibration and loud sound inside nearby houses at all times of day and night, especially with the larger hgv vehicles that are constantly going past at all hours. It’s got so bad that if you are on the top floor of my house, which is my bedroom, you can feel the floor shake when big heavy lorry’s go by. This is all simply caused by the poor road surface and will be made 100 times worse with increased lorry traffic when the new building is built opposite on the old weetabix site. Maybe earlstrees road should be shut off at the roundabout to lorry traffic by using a width restriction, especially as the lorry’s could easily take the other way into the estate via Gretton Brook road and then not have to drive past any of the housing!

  • Still no update, surely it can’t take this long to be investigated and reported back on. This needs dealing with soon as the problem is getting worse with every lorry that passes by. The shaking in my house at all hours of the day and night is not acceptable and will only get worse with the new warehouse building on the old weetabix site opposite my house.
