Overgrown Bushes

Reported via desktop in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category by Northamptonshire Highways at 11:17, Monday 12 September 2022

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3818995.

There are overgrown bushes on Ryeland Road where the junction is with Berrywood Road and it is obstructing the path so as you can only walk around the corner in single file. It has been an issue for some time but with the additional traffic there at the moment at school times because of the road closure on Berrywood Road it has become more dangerous. The bushes are so overgrown that there is only enough space for a single person to walk by, which inevitably means that someone ends up having to walk on the road to get past.I just wanted to bring it to your attention so that you could possible arrange to have the bushes cut back to make it safer for pedestrians. To be clear, if you are coming from the Ryeland Road direction towards Berrywood Road, the overgrown bushes would be on you right hand side as you walk towards Duston School on Berrywood Road.

  • Nothing has been done yet to cut back the bushes which are becoming increasingly dangerous as there are thorns sticking out ( these are at children's head height and would cause a serious injury particularly to their eyes). It is becoming increasingly difficult to see or walk around the area safely.
