Bridle Way just before bridge of A14 on Thrapstone Road, saying private land, owned by Drayton Estate but it used to be a bridle way for 40+ years, now all of sudden is saying it is closed and is private, there was no warning of this change.

  • Bridle Way number ND8 has been closed, saying now It is private land, however should be a Bridle Way

  • Investigation: Completed (Highways to Monitor, Routine Inspection Programme) - Thank you for your enquiry and for bringing this matter to our attention. We can confirm that a site visit has been carried out and; although the sign currently in-situ states that the the path is on private property, it requests that users keep to the path. We can also confirm that there is no sign stating that the Public Right of Way is closed. We would like to inform you that North Northamptonshire Highways does not own the land over which this Right of Way runs, the land is privately owned. Although no further action is required, we will continue to monitor this matter.
