The entrance to Christopher Hatton school has been created - This is causing problems for residents.

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 3856356.
The resident at Number 11 Covington Grove is becoming concerned with the volume of traffic at peak times down this cul de sac. Recently, Christopher Hatton have created an entrance/exit where the fence is which is parallel to this cul de sac. There was never an issue before this entrance was put in place. Residents are unable to leave their home which is completely unacceptable, and is especially inconvenient for the resident at number 11 who runs her own business and requires constant access. Please could you contact her immediately on 07902 537603.

Investigation: Completed (No Action Necessary) - Please be advised that consideration could be made to implement parking restrictions however we would require a Parking Restriction Request form to be completed in the first instance. Please visit the North Northamptonshire Councils website using the following link https://www.northnorthants.gov.uk/ parking-roads-and-transport/ request-new-parking-restrictions for more information on the process and to submit an application. Please note that by submitting a request form, the proposals are not automatically agreed and are still subject to a site assessment being undertaken by ourselves. As you may be aware, parking restrictions have a Traffic Regulation Order behind them in order to make the restrictions legal and enforceable. The Council is therefore required to follow a legal process, which includes consultation and potentially a period of dealing with any objections, before parking restrictions can be implemented. This process can take up to 12 – 18 months to complete. Regrettably, the deadline for the 2022 – 23 review has passed and any request would not be considered until the following year. Please note that the estimated 12-18 months commences from the beginning of the review process and not from receipt of application. In the short term, for your information where there are no restrictions in place Northamptonshire Police can enforce if there is an obstruction on the highway where it is deemed not possible for a driver to safely manoeuvre, pedestrians to pass unhindered along the footway or that access to a public or private property is impeded. Any concerns can be reported via the local Safer Communities Team by calling the non-emergency telephone number 101.
