Road markings on approach and at A43 junction need refurbishing ASAP

Report on behalf of Broughton Parish Council - I wonder if you have been able to organise a refresh of the white line markings on the Kettering Rd/A43 junction in Broughton? If you recollect we spoke about this at a previous meeting and I am getting increasing reports of drivers unwittingly ending up on the wrong side of the road as they approach the junction. On one occasion four vehicles formed an orderly queue – on the wrong side of the road! It would probably only need to be from the bend just beyond the allotment entrance to the junction – frankly there isn’t much road surface left on the centre line of most of the rest of Kettering Rd but that’s an argument for another day. The previous markings have all but disappeared. Please impress on whoever sanctions these works that Broughton is a rat-run between A509 and A43/A14 so much of the traffic is not local despite what others may believe. Added to that of course we also take considerable traffic coming from Cransley & Loddington, we can provide data from the SID that we have if that’s helpful. The more drivers use interactive SatNav which redirects them to avoid congestion the worse this situation will become. I do hope we can get something sorted out here to prevent what could be a very bad accident.
