Surface of Northern Bank unsafe
Reported via mobile in the Passage-Obstructed/Overgrown category anonymously at 23:47, Saturday 18 March 2023
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 4329759.
The surface of the Northern Bank I Is very slippery.
The Southern Bank has been resolved with the help of the very supportive and communicative land owners.
However, the agreement for you to trim the covering to 3 metres on both banks has never occurred. This means a narrow footpath (for a horse) remains difficult in the wet It was agreed that a wider footpath would allow grass to how and give the narrow path some rest. The other landowner would not allow use of the nearest safe route today as was agreed on 15 Feb 2022 and denied this agreement. That is really of No importance but obviously made things difficult in the vary short term. However, He also Advised us the bridleway was shut, there is no signage and as far as I know this has not been communicated to the BHS.
It would be preferable for everyone if you could make the passageway clear or add substrate (such as bark) to give the surface more traction. This would make the surface safe.
With the support of J Lyons, Park Farms and a team of people that use the bridleway regularly the north bank is now excellent and the bridleway can be used both ways round. So, It is a shame that the surface on the other bank is problematic.
Please can this be addressed as agreed as it will make life easier for all.
