Still no repair
Reported via mobile in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 09:18, Saturday 13 May 2023
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 4548864.
First reported on 7th March. The road has not been reinstated properly and heavy vehicles are causing the surrounding homes to shake as they pass over the poor workmanship. No attempt was made to rectify this after my first report.

Investigation: Completed (Defect Found), Defect Repair: Not Started - Regarding this section of High Street, we can confirm that the carriageway defects that meet the investigatory level for repairs, have work scheduled to resolve them. This should be completed within six months’ time. Please be assured that you will receive an update once repairs are concluded. We usually find these defects are tended to within 13 weeks.

The work that you have scheduled to rectify your defective repair needs doing sooner than the 3 to 6 months offered. The vibrations are getting worse . Please prioritize the repair

The vibrations are getting worse and are so bad they seem likely to damage our property. It is unreasonable that we are being jolted every time a bus goes by, which is constant and goes to midnight. It is also unreasonable to expect us to wait up to 6 months for the repair, given that it was reported months ago. Please fix this so we do not suffer building damage.

The vibrations are damaging my home, this is just a few examples where cement and stone have broken away. The vibrations shake the whole house on a daily basis at least once per hour. It has woken up my family on a regular basis thinking the house is falling in like the start of an earth quake. This is no exaggeration and particularly as it is a bus route and heavy goods vehicles dropping into the trench. This may not be significant to you, but it is significant to us. Why should we have to pay for repairs to our properties through incompetence and failure to act with priority when issues are raised. We have to pay at the drop of a hat for any council orientated payments but yet when we need remedial work due to poor workmanship, it is when it is convenient to the establishment and not the proprietor. I suggest this is dealt with immediately as it is immoral to expect us to accept any further disruption and damage to our homes.

This repair has still NOT been undertaken despite being reported MONTHS ago. My house is vibrating every few minutes now and the vibrations and jolting are getting more violent. The house shakes to the point that it is scary and we are being woken late at night and early morning with the constant passing of buses and lorries. There is a serious likelihood this will damage our property (if it hasn't already) and someone will need to take responsibility for that. Please repair this road immediately so we are not continually shaking in our home.

Good afternoon.

It is over 2 weeks since I was told that this repair would be carried out ASAP and some 6 months since it was first reported. I do not know what it takes to actually see some action on this, but I do know that my house moves extensively every time a heavy vehicle passes, which is every few minutes. This is beyond unacceptable. Please just do what it says on the tin and fix my street!

Here we are again. Unsurprisingly, the 'third party' never showed up to the party. And still we have a house that rocks every few minutes, but not in a party way. PLEASE, PLEASE could you just do what you have been promising to do and sort this road out.

Hi only done half of the trench so it needs completing. I spoke to the workmen this morning and they promised me it would all be done l. So I obviously spoke to a lying workman. I am happy for it to be completed overnight ASAP.

I was very excited to see that the third party came out on Friday 22nd (albeit later than the deadline we were given by you ) to fix this, only to be disappointed, at best, to see that they didn't stay the day to fix the side of the road that is causing the actual problem!! What is it going to take??? My house to fall down because the foundations are broken by this?? I am beyond frustrated and would happily have this fixed overnight.
