Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later.
The footpath has been closed for nearly 6 weeks already, for residents like myself who don’t drive this is the only footpath connecting the new estate to Queensway. I have had to keep my daughter off school because I have no way to walk there unless walking down the motorway which I refuse to do with my child, especially being 5 months pregnant. If building work was being planned on the bridge surely someone has to provide an alternative route into Queensway, I have spent £300 on taxis getting my daughter to school since it’s closure and I now can physically not afford to do so and so my daughters education is being affected. I have to pay to get to Queensway if I need a local shop or supermarket also which just isn’t feasible at all. I believe as a resident of waendal view I should have a right of way to access the local school and shops that is safe for my child. As a low income single mother I can’t stress how difficult it is to be isolated in this estate with my child knowing that a temporary bridge could have been put in place somewhere to avoid this.
