Very large deep pothole

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. ref: 4882978.

Very large deep pot hole at side of road, site of a previous recent inadequate repair, which i destroyed a wheel in before it was repaired, this is now very deep and could cause a serious accident, maybe even a death.

  • Investigation: Ongoing (Defect Found) - This email is regarding the pot hole reported on Broughton Road, we can confirm that the carriageway defects meet the investigatory level for repairs and work has been scheduled to resolve them. This should be completed within the next 26 weeks, with our current date for repairs being 15/01/24, and please be assured that you will receive an update once repairs are concluded.

  • The date of the 15/01/2024 is all well and good, but the hole is on the aproach to a bend, and can not be avoided in oncoming traffic, is big enough to destroy a passenger side wheel, which happend to me in the previous hole here, or kill a motorcyclist

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found) - As per our priority levels, outlined by North Northants Council, we unfortunately have to follow their guidelines when tending to road defects. This pot hole is still scheduled for repairs on 15/01/24 however we do hope to attend sooner.   • I hope you took photos and of the hole and the tyre's, other wise they will reject any claim. I've been reporting this hole for a while, to no effect.

  • As you can see from the photo the main hazard has been repaired now 26th Aug 23 but not the one 5 feet away which will soon become a problem, the jobs worth society we live in at work

  • Investigation: Completed (Defect Found) - As per our priority levels outlined by North Northants Council, we attended the defect first reported and completed a repair here. The other pot holes in the area currently are on a lower priority list due to not being as high a safety risk. We are further attending the site to complete all other works on or before 15/01/24.
